Mapping CAD Properties
Most CAD systems allow you to define values of properties stored with the CAD file, containing information relevant to the manufacturing, inspection, and analysis of that component. For example, material, description, and surface and heat treatment requirements.
aPriori can extract these CAD properties and use them to automate cost estimation, automatically populating all inputs necessary to analyze the component, importing them to:

Production inputs (shown in the Production Scenario tab of the Cost Guide - see Analyze Components with the Cost Guide.
- User Defined Attributes (UDAs) - see UDA mappings.
Import Properties using XML Mapping Files
To import these CAD properties, use an XML file defining the mappings.
You can then import it into aPriori. aPriori implements the mapping you've defined, assigning values to production inputs and UDAs based on CAD properties.
To import a mapping file, select File > Import > CAD Property Mapping File in the Priori System Adminstrator tool.
